Google’s Nexus 7 tablet sure is exciting and one of the hottest Android slates around, but we still haven’t heard any official numbers on how it’s selling. We’ve heard a few reports from ASUS suggesting just under 1 million a month, and now that same number is being mentioned a few more times.

According to a new report by DigiTimes, the Nexus 7 is poised to sell well over 1 million in the month of December. Previous months saw sales reaching the 700,000-800k mark but this month is looking even stronger. It sounds like Google will have a good holiday run.

With the Nexus 7 lineup getting a price drop, a newer model with extra storage, as well as offering a 3G HSPA+ connected model the Nexus 7 is doing better than ever, and sales are showing no signs of slowing down. The report goes as far as to say 2-4 million tablets have been shipped in the fourth quarter of 2012 alone.

When the tablet first launched back in July reports from supply chains gathered up a number around 500-600k sales but that has continued to increase as the year has moved forward. December marks the first month that they’ll not only hit the 1 million mark, but exceed is as the holidays come to a close. As a comparison, they also state around 2 million iPad minis will be shipped out too. While these numbers aren’t official, it sounds like between the Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 Google will have a strong Q4 with their devices. Will you be picking one up this holiday season?

  1. Tablets are certainly one of the hottest ticket items this season — here’s a brand new Android tablet model released last week that’s worth checking out — the new Novo 10 Hero – priced at $225 at a site called TabletSprint — And is possibly the best 10-inch “price-performance” tablet under $300 available this year and features a High Resolution 1280×800 IPS screen, 16GB Memory, MicroSD memory cards, a strong Battery and Dual Core processor with Quad Core GPU, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, HDMI connection – that makes it easy to download movies to the tablet and watch on a big screen TV in full 1080p (HD), Wifi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and an option for 3G/4G connection. Definitely worth comparing to the Kindle, Nexus and iPad – and TabletSprint also offers $25 in bonus Apps and free 3G/4G internet connection with 500MB Data use each month at no cost – with full internet access and VoIP voice calling from your tablet.
