Verizon has confirmed to us that the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the HTC Droid Incredible has begun going out today as an OTA update. The updated ROM will not only upgrade the Droid Incredible’s core OS but add in the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 together with 3G mobile hotspot functionality and add 720p HD video recording to the smartphone’s camera.
The update is going out OTA rather than as a download, so you may have to wait a while before you get the on-device alert to say it’s ready for installation. We’d recommend using a WiFi connection to download it, too, rather than cellular data. Unfortunately there’s no way to artificially prompt the update, Verizon tells us; patience is a virtue, we guess. There’s more information on the update here.
