Just merely two weeks after the Nexus 6 was officially released in the US through Verizon, 6 more countries have been added to the growing list of those that can purchase this brand new Motorola-made device. Through the newly-launched Google Store site (an offshoot of the Google Play Store), those who live in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Norway, and Portugal will now be able to experience the power of Google’s newest smartphone.
This brings to 21 the total number of countries that can buy the Nexus 6 officially from the Google Store. This online retail store is also just a “newcomer” to the market as it was separated from the Google Play Store and focuses on selling hardware for the tech giant, like Nexus devices, the Chromebook, as well as smartwatches running on the Android Wear platform. Google has also recently released an OTA update for the Nexus 6, so after you buy your new smartphone, you can immediately upgrade it to Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Meanwhile, the Nexus Player is finally available in the UK. It has only been previously available in the US, Japan, and Canada, but now our friends from across the pond can now buy their very own Android TV box so they can watch their videos from Google Play, Netflix, YouTube, etc and also play Android games as well.
The Nexus 6 is available from the Google Store in 32GB and 64GB variants. You can choose from colors of Midnight Blue or Cloud White. In the US, price starts at $649, but of course, for the aforementioned six new countries, the price will vary as per their currency. Meanwhile the Nexus Player is selling at £79.99 through the Google Store and other online retail stores as well.
