Fans of the Android app 500px can now download an update for the application that brings new features. The updated application was released this week and promises a better ability to discover photos and find friends using the application. The application is also nearing 500,000 downloads.
The cofounder of the company behind the app also recently noted that there are more active users on the Android platform than those accessing 500px from Apple devices. The update brings a new Flow feature and a new Find Friends option. The Flow feature wants to be something like personalized Pinterest according to the developer of the app.
The feature allows users to discover new photos and it displays photos that the user’s friends have like, added to favorites, or commented on. The images are a type of curated content from a user’s friends. The new Find Friends option is just like the option found in the web version of the application.
This feature allows users to find people through Twitter and Facebook who are using the 500px service. Users of the application that are adventurous and want to try the newest features first can also now download the 500px Beta test version to try out the newest features before they are added to the official stable release.
