Aside from communicating with others (SMS, messaging, social media), one of the things that smartphone owners use their devices for is probably to take pictures. That’s the thinking behind Oppo’s new F series, which will be photography-focused and based on the positive feedback that they have received regarding their cameras on their flagship devices. The Chinese brand announced that they will be announcing the first device in their new line of smartphones at CES 2016.
The first phone in the F series will be the unsurprisingly named F1. But aside from that, they did not reveal any more details about the new smartphone, except to say that it will launch in a “wide range of Oppo’s global markets” when it’s officially announced this month. The series will also be a core product for the brand this year, banking on the customer feedback that “Oppo shoots great photos”. Another important thing to note is that the price will probably be lower than other high end phones with similar photography specs.
Some are speculating that the F1 is actually the international variant of their previously released Oppo A53, which is now available in China. If that’s the case, then this would have a 5.5-inch 720p display and will run on a Snapdragon 616 processor. It should have a 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, non-removable 3075mAh battery and has dual SIM support. As for the camera, it is like other mid-range devices with 13MP for the main cam and 5MP for the front-facing one. Based on that, we’re not really sure what would make it a photo-centric device.
Oppo’s F1 will be announced soon, maybe in the next few days, so we can expect more accurate details to come out soon. it will also be ready to be launched this month as well.
