The Mi Powerbank (from Xiaomi) has become a common fixture for a lot of people, particularly those who are always on the go and would need to power up their smartphone at one point or another during the day. Most of those who have it have the 5000 mAh to be thankful for, but now the OEM is bringing something more powerful and also noticeably slimmer you wouldn’t think the new Mi Powerbank Pro could house a 10,000 mAh capacity inside of it.
The latest member of the Mi Powerbank family can actually charge not just your smartphone or tablet, but even your laptop. In fact, it also has support for USB Type C charging so devices like the Mi 5 and even a MacBook can benefit from this. It is also 42% thinner than the normal 10000 mAh powerbank. It also has the ability to detect what are the devices connected to it and brings you shorter charging time for most of them because of its 18W maximum input.
For example, the Mi Pro can be fully charged 25% shorter at 1 hour and 50 minutes as opposed to the 2 hours 30 minutes with the usual 5V / 2A Mi powerbank. Even the charging of the powerbank itself is shorter by 40% so it means that you can have it fully juiced up in just 3.5 hours, unlike the 6 hours previously. As for the smaller voltage devices like wearables and Bluetooth earpieces, you can double tap the power button so it can switch mode and charge these kinds of gadgets.
In terms of safety, it has nine layers of circuit chip protection from Texas Instruments. The Mi Powerbank Pro is priced at around $22, but for now, it only seems to be available in China.
