If you’re a new owner of a brand new Sony Xperia X Performance and you’re into experimentation, and we mean digital experimentation, you might want to sign up quick for this. They are opening up an invitation to join an Xperia Beta Program wherein you will be able to test a pre-release firmware version of the up coming Android 7.0 Nougat. You’ll be one of the first to try out the early version of the update on your new device, so this might be as good a chance as any.
The next big Android update is rumored to be officially released by the end of this month, but we all know from previous experience with major Android updates that this will not hit our devices anytime soon. Google has to work with carriers and OEMs, hence the long, drawn out process of getting the final build to consumers. So if you think you’d like to see what the Nougat will do to your device, then sign up for the beta program.
However, the program is only available at limited regions only, including the Nordics, Lithuania , Estonia, Latvia, Iceland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands. There are only a few slots in there, so if you meet the criteria, meaning you live in any of those regions and you have an Xperia X Performance and you like testing out new things, then you should definitely sign up.
If you have other Sony Xperia handsets, there is still no word if they will be extending the program to other handsets so don’t get your hopes up just yet. Or get an Xperia X Performance if you’re that excited to see what the Nougat is all about.
