For all of you who have used Windows at the beginning of your digital lives, nothing evokes more fear and trembling than the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. Countless horror stories of lost thesis papers, unsaved work documents, and damaged computers are due to this common but painful occurrence. Windows may have put this far away in their checkered past, but if you’re feeling nostalgic, you can have it on your Android Wear smartwatch.
Yes, you read that right. You can have the Blue Screen of Death on your wrist, courtesy of the BSOD Watch Face if you wanted to. Now as to why you would want to look at your wrist and remember that feeling of fear, that is your business. But if you wanted to, then you can have it. And you can even have the date information, and choose from a 12 o 24 hour auto format. It says on the product page that it has a “High Resolution Design”, which may be more than what you actually experienced in your computer.
To see the BSOD on your smartwatch, you of course install the watch face first then go to your Android Wear app and then choose the BSOD Watch Face as your default. It supports both round and square smartwatches. It now also has an ambient mode so that when you’re in a dark environment, it won’t look like you’re wearing a flashlight.
The BSOD Watch Face has been tested on the Moto 360, LG G Watch R, ASUS ZenWatch, Sony SmartWatch, among others. You can download it from the Google Play Store for $0.99, if you’re willing to pay to have the privilege of the blue screen on your wrist.
