A couple of months ago, we told you of an emoji app that virtual keyboard SwiftKey was beta testing. Now, it is officially launching for Android devices. It is actually their first major announcement ever since they were acquired by Microsoft earlier this year. They have also released a Mid-year Review of the state of emojis in our digital lives and it is a pretty interesting look at which emojis people have been using for the first half of the year.

Swiftmoji is for those that want to use a lot of emojis in their conversations or social media posts, but are either too lazy to look for good ones or are too confused with all the choices that are out there. There are around 1800 that are currently available right now, and with more to come. So what the app does is to suggest what emojis you can use based on the context of your conversation and also on what are the currently trending emojis, in case you always want to be with the “in” digital crowd.

After you’ve installed the Swiftmoji app and added it to your virtual keyboards list, whenever you’re in a conversation or if you’re using your keyboard, then you can select the Swiftmoji keyboard when you’re in the mood to add an emoji to what you’re typing. For now, it only supports English and is not yet available globally. But since emoji is a universal language, we’re pretty sure it will expand its territories soon.

You can download Swiftmoji from the Google Play Store for free. There are some in-app purchases available as well, but you’d probably be satisfied with not spending anything.
