It used to be that SoundCloud was just about uploading something that you recorded for fun, but didn’t want a video to accompany it, and so you just want an audio uploading app. But as with YouTube and its legion of video stars, the service has now become a vehicle for audio content creators to build a community, and sometimes, even get discovered. They’re now releasing their first ever app “just for creators” with SoundCloud Pulse.
This will not replace the main SoundCloud app of course, but is just a companion app and lets creators, or those who constantly upload their original content on the service, have an easier way of managing their community of followers, and even growing them. You can view the stats on your posts/tracks, reply to people commenting on your uploads, follow other users, and most importantly, share your uploaded tracks either publicly or privately to selected users.
Since this is the initial release of the app, SoundCloud says they will constantly bring improvements and listen to feedback on how they can do better. Some upcoming features will bring the ability to upload tracks from your mobile device, edit track information, expand message capability, and also, give more in-depth stats.
The most important thing that SoundCloud Pulse will bring is building a community of creators and listeners, which is the secret to the success of any media sharing app or program. You can download the app from the Google Play Store, of course for free.
