When messaging powerhouse Snapchat acquired Bitmoji a few months ago, they did not specify when elements of it will be incorporated into their app but did say it will be a separate, standalone app for now. While it will still remain a separate app, they have also now announced the incorporation of Bitmoji elements as a Snapchat feature in the latest update to the latter app. So whatever emoji personality you create, you will also now be able to use when you send your Snaps and when you chat with friends.
Bitmoji is actually from the folks over at Bistrips and is a cute app which lets you create cartoon versions of yourself as avatars. If you haven’t tried it out yet, go ahead and download the Bitmoji app so you can create your own account and then make your own avatar. Then link your account to your Snapchat (you’d have to update to the latest version as well) and your very own cute (we hope it’s cute) avatar will now be available there.
You can use the avatar when you’re chatting with friends. You can also add it to your snaps, both for your photos and videos. If the friend you’re talking to has also linked their Bitmoji to their Snapchat, then you’ll be able to use some “friendmojis”, whatever that means. It will probably look awesome for those who are fans of bitmojis and avatars and the likes.
The Snapchat update also brings a couple of other new features, like the ability to send a username to another person you’re chatting with by long pressing on a Snapchatter’s name. You can also now draw on your face with the Face Paint Lens. So go ahead and update your Snapchat app so you can enjoy all the Bitmoji joy.
