Good news was announced today right on stage by Samsung during their Unpacked event at IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany. They confirmed that an update should be headed to your device here “very soon” containing none other than Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. With the Galaxy Note II being announced already running Jelly Bean this update should basically be expected.
Previous reports and rumors slated the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III to arrive on August 28th, but with this event going on we figured they’d wait to drop that update to keep the limelight on the Galaxy Note II. That appears to be exactly the case with Samsung stating that the update isn’t available yet — but users can expect it “very soon.”
Samsung detailed that the Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note (1), and Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet can all expect to see updates to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean shortly. So for those wondering, we still don’t have a confirmed date and would have loved more details, but we’ll take what we can get for now. These devices run great on ICS but we’d love those tasty Jelly Beans.
