We haven’t gotten any confirmation yet that Samsung is indeed releasing a Pro version of its Galaxy A9 device, but reports are now saying that this device has been imported to India to be tested first before its eventual release in the Chinese market. But we still don’t know much about this purported device, other than the fact that it is based on the Galaxy A9 which was just released late last year.
The leaked document states that the Galaxy A9 Pro, model number SM-A9100, is being shipped to India from its country of origin which is of course South Korea, and it is only for research and development purposes and not for retail sale. Unfortunately, the manifest also doesn’t reveal much about the device except for the screen size, which is supposedly 6-inches. But we already knew that from the previous leaks. The value per unit listed says $360, but as we’ve previously experienced, this is no indication at all of the actual price that they will eventually release.
Some have suggested that the difference between the original Galaxy A9 and this supposed Galaxy A9 Pro, aside from the screen size, is that it will be a Windows 10 variant. But given the fact that Microsoft’s mobile OS has become very unpopular in the market lately after an initial burst of interest, that may be far from the truth.
And so we’ll have to wait a little more until the testing in India is done or until we get a few more leaks here and there before we can find out what else is special about the Galaxy A9 Pro, aside from being slightly bigger than the Galaxy A9.
