Samsung has officially announced the Chromebook 2 Series. This updated Chromebook will be available in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch configurations. The specs have some similarities across the board, however there are a few key differences between each of the models. Most notably, the 11.6-inch model has a display resolution of 1366 x 768 with the 13.3-inch model stepping up to Full HD at 1920 x 1080.
Both models will have a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor, however the smaller 11.6-inch will be clocked at 1.9GHz with the larger 13.3-inch model coming in at 2.1GHz. Otherwise, both will have 4GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD storage, a microSD memory card slot, and 720p HD webcam. The battery life is estimated at up to 8 hours for the 11.6-inch, and up to 8.5 hours for the 13.3-inch model.
Some of the other similarities include one HDMI port along with one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, and a combination headphone-out/microphone-in port. The 11.6-inch model will be available in Jet Black or Classic White, with the 13.3-inch model arriving in Luminous Titan Gray.
As you’ll see from the images here in the post — these will indeed have the textured lid with stitched design which we first saw with the Galaxy Note 3. Shifting to the overall size and weight and we are seeing models that will come in as follows; 11.40 x 8.06 x 0.66-inches and 2.43 pounds for the 11.6-inch model, and 12.72 x 8.80 x 0.65-inches and 3.09 pounds for the 13.3-inch model.
Samsung will also have some pre-loaded software including Air Droid Premium, and Wunderlist Pro, amongst others. Both models are expected to arrive next month, in April, and the price points will be $319.99 and $399.99 for the 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch models respectively.
