So it took a while in arriving, and a lot of other unofficial CyanogenMod 13 builds have been made for the OnePlus 3, but it’s finally here. OnePlus’s current “flagship killer” finally gets some love from the CyanogenMod team, with whom the startup company has a bit of less than cordial history before. But it’s all water under the bridge now, it seems.
If you’re tired of OxygenOS and were waiting for an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) build to try and use on your OnePlus 3, well, a CM13 nightly just came out for your device. This means a couple of things – first, a nightly build is just what you think it means: a build that has most things working, but with a few bugs here and there, so don’t expect everything to be perfect. Secondly, this means that the CM13 build for the OnePlus 3 is actually nearing stability, this is why a nightly build is released in the first place, so we rejoice.
For caveats, there are a few major bugs in the CM13 nightly for the OP3. First, due to OnePlus still not releasing the binaries for the OnePlus 3, Dash Charge is not supported in this build of CM13. The developers expect this to be temporary though, as the company has promised it will release binaries soon. Second, the camera quality takes a major hit when you use CM13 , this due to the lack of post processing applied by the OxygenOS’s stock camera app. This will probably be a permanent issue, unless OnePlus releases their stock camera app to the public, with its post-processing algorithm in tow.
So if you’re ok with these bugs, you can download the nightly build via CyanogenMod’s official download page. Make sure that you do your backups when you start flashing this custom ROM.
