Since the DROID by Motorola was released, Android begun to have an even bigger foothold on the smartphone arena. With the news of the Google Nexus One, the number of people who wanted an Android handset are now growing.
According to a survey by ChangeWaveResearch, Android has gained much more momentum in December, compared with the month of September. This, as we mentioned, comes as no surprise when the DROID is out there, and the latest news about the Nexus One say this handset is coming very soon.
The survey was on December 9-14, there were 4,068 participants, the Motorola DROID is the “biggest and most immediate beneficiary.” The percentage of those who plan to buy a smartphone in the next 90 days is 21%, that’s a big jump from the 6% back in September. To better understand the survey, check the charts (one above, one below), but as you can see, there are more future buyers fro Motorola than HTC.
There are also other facts from the survey not shown here; like the satisfaction chart, which shows the Android OS ranked second with 72% among customers who said they were “very satisfied” with their current cell phone. The iPhone took first place with 77%, BlackBerry 41%, Palm OS/webOS 33% and the last place went to Windows Mobile with 25%.
