Modu looks like to announce their new, Android-powered modular smartphone, the Modu T-Phone, within the next week or so, with news of invites for a press event in Israel being issued. According to Gadgety, Modu has confirmed a press conference on October 10 2010.
Details on the T-Phone itself are scant; like its non-Android Modu predecessors it’s expected to consist of a core phone unit with a range of interchangeable “jackets” that can add new functionality. Those jackets might include a physical keyboard (to augment the standard touchscreen), stereo speakers or even more unusual designs such as for gaming, while the core unit itself should have WiFi and either GSM or CDMA 3G.
