After the Meizu MX6, M3S, and the PRO 6 launched in the first half of 2016, here comes the M3E. We weren’t exactly waiting for this one but we know that Meizu is gearing up for a new M3. Yup, it’s still part of the M3 series just like the entry-level M3, M3S, and M3 Note. There’s the familiar 5.5-inch screen, Full HD IPS display, Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for expansion, 13MP rear camera (Sony IMX258 sensor, 5P lens, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF), 5MP selfie shooter (f/2.0 aperture plus 4P lens), and the mTouch 2.1 home button and fingerprint reader combo at the front.
Design-wise, the Meizu M3E looks slimmer at only 153.6 x 75.8 x 7.9mm. Interestingly, it is heavier at 172 grams despite the battery being downgraded to 3100 mAh. Perhaps the added weight has something to do with the mCharge fast charging technology it now boasts. Meizu is rolling out the phone with a new tech that can juice up to 50% within half an hour.
The new Meizu M3E comes in five color options: Rose Gold, Gold, Gray, Silver, and Blue. Price tag reads CNY 1,299 which is about $195 only. Phone is targeted mainly for the younger generation.
