Smartwatches and fitness trackers are designed for adults living a busy lifestyle and those trying to be fit. Nobody has tried to capture the kid-friendly wearable market yet except for LG. We’re guessing not only tech giants and device makers will follow suit but also other brands catering to the young ones like Kurio, Fuhu, and LeapFrog.
LG has just introduced GizmoGadget and the GizmoPal 2. This pair of connected devices are exclusive to Verizon. The new GizmoPal is already the second-gen model of a wearable that is meant to work more like a GPS device to inform parents of their kids’ whereabouts. This one features LED status lights to indicate a function like an incoming message or call. The GPS locator brings parents assurance and peace of mind that their kids are safe and sound where they are supposed to be.
On the other hand, the GizmoGadget is bigger. This one though comes equipped with a small 1.3-inch color display with touchscreen, jump rope counter, pedometer, and the ability to send emojis and pre-recorded messages. Some parents would say these are just “toys” but the wearable can connect the children to their parents. In partnership with Verizon, parents can call their kids on their GizmoGadget via real voice calls and text messages.
The $79 GizmoPal 2 and the $149 GizmoGadget work with the GizmoHub app for Android. The wearable pair is available starting today from Verizon. Add five bucks each month to your current wireless plan so you can enjoy all the tracking and messaging features.
