The mobile team over at LG has been working hard lately on their smartphone lineup. Their impressive flagship smartphone known as the LG Optimus G was met with great expectations here in the US, and has slowly arrived for more regions since. Today we’ve learned that the folks from LG have one more launch coming up soon. Their flagship phone will hit Australia with 4G LTE come March 13th.
According to reports from AusDroid it appears that LG will be holding an official launch party and media event in Sydney, Australia, where they’ll confirm the handset is arriving for at least one carrier. Reports also confirm 4G LTE will be on board, so that’s certainly good news for those on Telstra.
For now we’re being told the LG Optimus G 4G LTE will be a Telstra exclusive in Australia, but hopefully after an exclusion period other carriers will jump on board and offer this impressive quad-core smartphone. For those unaware, the LG Optimus G is much like the Nexus 4.
The LG Optimus G offers a 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz quad-core processor accompanied by 2GB of RAM, and we’re still waiting for other details for the Telstra model. There’s two versions stateside. One with an 8 megapixel camera, and another rocking a 13 megapixel shooter. The phone will be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean so should be an excellent option for the carrier and its customers.
