Thank heavens for Google Translate because it allows us to “read” content in different languages and understand them after translation. According to the Internet giant, there are over 500 million users every month taking advantage of the service. And everyday, Google translates about 100 billion words all over the web. It’s such an important part of our everyday lives that Google decided to bring Google Translate to Android Wear.
This feature will come with the newest Android Wear update, the same one that’s bringing interactive watch faces. With Translate on Android Wear, you can talk to anyone speaking a different language because it will help you understand what’s being said. You just need an internet connection so the smartwatch can translate the conversation.
Google can translate conversations into 44 languages to be exact. On an Android Wear-powered smartwatch, it becomes an intelligent solution because it can identify spoken languages and then translation can be read on the screen with a simple flip of the wrist.
We’re not sure how reliable is this on Android Wear but Google Translate is already reliable. Translations can be funny at times but more often than not, Google Translate provides the correct translation or at least just parts of a text and now this time, spoken conversations.
About 90 languages are now covered by Google for text translation but only 44 for Android Wear but more should be added soon. This way, more bilingual conversations can take place. Who knows someday, we won’t need to study other languages because you know, Google can translate everything.
