Google is always consistent with updates for it’s default applications. In fact, they have just updated Maps to 4.6 bringing with it an array of new features.
Places pages have been updated to an altered UI matching the desktop version of the service with it’s reviews being organized between web, Yelp, and Zagat. Among other features updated we now have new search filters. You can now search by distance and rating (which were previously available) and by neighborhood, establishment location, open now, and related searches.
Also available in 4.6 is Latitude real-time updating. Google Latitude real-time updating is a new experimental social feature that will allow you to view a friends profile page and meet up with them by temporarily seeing faster updates. Your friends must have Maps 4.6 as well and Android 2.2 or above to use this new tracking feature.
