We only knew it was a matter of time before image sharing (and pinning) social network Pinterest would eventually allow users to buy stuff directly on their site. And when this feature was introduced to iOS devices earlier this summer, we also knew eventually it would come to Android devices. Well, that day has finally come as you can now buy your most desired products on Pinterest through your Android smartphone or tablet, all without even having to leave the app.

Of course, not all the pins you see on the board are buyable (because how can you buy quotes right?). If you see a pin with a blue button next to the pink Pin It button and it says Buy It, then logically, it follows that you can buy it. Just tap it, and go through a few more steps to be able to complete the purchase. You’d need to give them the basics like name, delivery address, payment details and the app will save them so that you won’t have to re-enter them the next time you buy.

With regards to the payment method and details, Pinterest is assuring users that the checkout is both simple and secure. As to the quality of the products being sold, they review first the seller and their products before approving (or disapproving) so that users get the assurance that they’re buying from sellers trusted by the social network.

To also make it easier for users to shop, there is also now a Pinterest Shop which will be rolling out in the next few weeks to Android devices. Brands like Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom are there, as well as smaller boutiques that may probably go exclusive on Pinterest.
