I mentoring last week that Amazon was set to launch its own Android app store before long. Apparently, Amazon isn’t the only company that is looking to get into the Android apps market with a new rumor floating around that has an electronics retail giant looking to get in on the action.
According to the rumor, Best Buy is mulling over launching its own Android app store. The report surfaced first with the Wall Street Journal and came from the CEO of Best Buy mentioning that he would consider building his own android app store.
Best Buy CTO Robert Stephens later said that the concept was in a very early stage and the retail giant had no plans set in stone. With Amazon stepping into the Android app market, we can expect to see many similar offerings pop up.
