Some have become famous because of it. Some have gained notoriety because of it. Some have turned it into an art. Some have used it for advocacies. Some have even risked life and limb to take one. Yes, the selfie is still here and looks like it wants to stay. No matter how you feel about them, you can’t deny the fact that it’s already part of our social zeitgeist (and even our dictionary). Asus will reportedly be releasing a new smartphone that will help fuel it even more.
Asus released a teaser on their Facebook page, saying they will be unveiling the newest member of their Zenphone family during the Computex event next week in Taiwan. The hint that they gave was that it would “illuminate the beauty that’s in you through the front camera of the ZenFone”. So yes, it may just be a rumor for now, but obviously it has something to do with a selfie feature. Now as to what it will be called is still up for speculation, but the strongest candidate is Asus Zenfone Selfie, which is as straightforward as you can get.
What will make it a selfie smartphone is that the front-facing camera will reportedly have the same pixels as the main one, which is pegged at 13MP. It will also be equipped with dual-LED flash to help you with low-light situations. The current Asus Zenfone 2 also has a 13MP main camera but the front one is just at 5MP.
Aside from the Zenfone Selfie (I wonder if they will really call it that), Asus will reportedly launch some new ZenPad Tablets during Computex next week. One is rumored to be a high-end 8″ tablet with a 4:3 dsplay. So, are you excited to have a selfie smartphone?

Uhmm. I’m not sure if I’m right. But in the last paragraph its not 4.3. 4:3 maybe?
