Dear Android Community, you are the best Android blog out there, with awesome editorials and even more awesome contests. I’m a freelance journalist and a gamer, making me very poor. If you hooked me up with this I’d love you forever.
Wow! This Tegra 3 Game Pack giveaway is awesome! It would be wonderful if I win the contest.
mordecai & rigby want me to win this contest….
I would like to win because I just got a job as a Field Rep in NYC and can use this thing for work. Especially since I have never lived in NYC and need all the help I can get. Help me navigate, stay on time, keep appointments, paperwork and docs on drive, and to keep me happy on the train and when I eat lunch. I do not like to beg, but please!!!
I’ve been using mobile computing devices for as long as I can remember, starting with the casio digital diaries, loved all the Palm Pilot series and even a bit of the iPAQ, the Treos and early WindowsMobile phones. I used my Treo as long as possible being an avid anti-Mac zealot, before a quick flirt with the HTC Mogul. When a nerd-pal showed me his “new kickass phone from Google! Also made by HTC!” This was frankly a life changing notion, and I’ve been glued to the industry ever since.
I was in the IT industy for several years, and would wave all of these devices in peoples faces, insisting that these would replace thier PCs, even laptops. Let’s be frank, very few people need workstations of any sort, they are not actually “computing” anything. All that most of the population needs is a “portal”, a “dumb” terminal with which to access (or manipulate) the information they want or need. No one listened. With the advent of touch screens, cloud computing, high bandwidth wireless networks, I think it’s fairly obvious that this is quite a reality.
With ASUS releasing this series of devices, detachable KB, quad core CPU (by nVidia no less!), beautiful bright touch screen, I (and Anyone) can finally leave their laptops on a desk, take gaming, computing, social conectivity and work productivity in a lightwieght package anywhere. I know that sounds like a marketing shill, but I could not be more goshdurned serious about my personal enthusiasim about this paticular product. I’ve been an ASUS fan for many years, used thier mobos exclusivly for custom computer building both profesionally and personally, recomended their laptops over most other manufacturers. (it should be noted that ASUS actually Makes many highend laptops for other manuifacturers.) I’ve been watching this line by them since the first EeePad, and they only get better every new model. ASUS don’t make no junk.
So, having been considering a new laptop for a while, and taking a good hard look at the tablet market, when the Transformer Prime Tegra3 came to market I was sold. Just had to convince the lady that this was a good investemnt of our funds. 😉 Thanks to Android Community and nVidia, I don’t have to whine like a 12 year old for my new toy. I can finally leave my laptop on the desk, watch netflix in bed, play all my fave games and all the new games for Tegra only devices, cart it to my fave cafe and show it off, convince a few iNerds I know that Android is something to be taken seriously, on several differnt fronts. (Actually, my E4GT does pretty well there.)
Wierdly enough, I am usually not one to be interested to things like “specialty peripherals” like the messenger powerbag, but in this instance, I am actually quite excited! For this one reason: I love camping. I love road trips, for the sake of driving. For two week sessions. So being able to keep a tablet, my phone, my ladyfriends phone, whatever, charged for extra time in the woods, on the road, that will actually come in use this summer.
Thanks again, AC, SG, nVidia!
