As we’ve seen in the past, ever since the Advent Vega Android-powered tablet went on sale, the demand for the device is pretty high. So high, in fact, that the company can’t seem to keep the device in stock for any longer than a handful of minutes. Of course, they’re fully aware of the situation, and they’re also aware that those who actually have the tablet are now eagerly anticipating getting an update to the recently released Android 2.3. Fortunately, it looks like they’ve got their priorities set.
While there’s no question that the team behind the tablet is already looking at getting Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) onto the tablet, they are first and foremost focusing on getting the stock refilled, and out into the customer’s hands. But, they are putting a lot of work into updating the tablet device, too. Their latest tweet suggests that Android 2.3 is coming, and that they are working on it. Just one more reason to get the tablet, right?
And remember to check out our review of the tablet right here. Just in case you were on the fence about picking one up this holiday season. Or trying to, that is.

I have a suspicion that the main reason the vega is permanently out of stock is more because one or two businesses or individuals are purchasing in bulk as soon as they become available with the intention to then sell at a higher price on ebay etc.
Im sure the Dixons sales figures will show this to be the case where most units are shipping to the same people.
