One, now we're getting additional details regarding a few of their already available and popular smartphones. Both the HTC One S from T-Mobile, and Verizon's HTC Rezound have updates rolling out today. Sadly neither are Jelly Bean, but we have the details below.
HTC have been on a roll lately regarding updates for older devices. HTC Rezound smartphone to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but now today it's getting another massive update. It looks like multiple users have received the update, although HTC and Verizon haven't made a peep regarding it. More details are available after the break.
HTC Rezound customers to rejoice and enjoy the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense UI 3.6 for their device. Today Verizon made the update official and it appears to already be rolling out to users. If you've been waiting through all the leaks and delays the official update is now available.
HTC Rezound and the Motorola DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX and DROID 4 will all have their latent GSM capabilities switched on this summer, with voice roaming possible in "more than 220 countries" and data in "more than 205". Exact dates were not given.
Rezound get a leaked official Ice Cream Sandwich build, but it's been so long that another is apparently ready as well. The latest Android 4.0 version is build 3.13.605.7, and the folks over at Android Police have hosted it for download. Those of you who used HTC's official bootloader unlock will have to sit tight or find a ROM Update Utility (RUU).
HTC Rezound, Motorola DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX got something of a false alarm a few weeks ago, when Best Buy claimed that these Verizon phones were getting Ice Cream Sandwich updates. The upgrade days came and went, but Verizon, Motorola and HTC remained steadfast that they'd be updated... eventually. Now an internal Verizon screenshot shows that the RAZRs' testing period will end on May 17th, and the Rezound will end even sooner, on May 7th.

But according to yet another leak (which acknowledges the delay for the Moto phones) the Ice Cream Sandwich update is still going out to the HTC Rezound on Friday, April 6th, tomorrow. The update doesn't offer an explanation for the Moto delays, but odds are pretty good that Best Buy made the mistake that we and many others did, assuming that the latest Gingerbread update was something a little more timely.
HTC Rezound is a pretty great choice. Lucky for you guys Verizon has recently lowered the price of the handset to just $49.99, making it one of the better priced LTE phones available. What's even better is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be on the device within the next week or two.
