SoundCloud is now becoming more than just the place where you upload your frustrated dreams of becoming a rockstar or you listen to your friend’s attempts at being the next Katy Perry. While that is all and good, if you’re into that sort of thing, the service can also be a way for you to discover indie artists, or musicians who are trying to catch their big break. Now they’re introducing a new feature to make it easier for you to discover these artists and it’s called Stations.

If you’re familiar with how stations work in other music streaming services work, then it’s easy to figure out how Stations in SoundCloud work. It can be generated by searching for any track, search term, content stream, or even your own personal Collection of uploaded tracks or favorited tracks. Then just pull up the menu and click on the Start Station option. It will then generate your own endless stream of songs from the more than 100 million tracks in their database.

It is somehow related to their previous “Related Tracks” feature but enhanced to make it continuous stream. Once you create a Station, you’ll be able to access it through the Collections section where your Likes and Playlists are also located. Once you update your SoundCloud app through the Google Play Store, you will be able to enjoy the Stations feature.

While you can also find the usual artists and songs on SoundCloud, what makes this service stand out from the others is that it encourages users to create and upload their own tracks, making it a veritable source of unknown or upcoming artists. The Station feature may actually make it even easier to discover these new talents.
