We were early to say that Samsung’s numbers may not be good this third quarter (Q3) but sales are not really impressive even if the latest premium flagship phones are wowing a lot of Android fans. It’s mainly because of the high prices. Samsung is now competing with phone makers that are offering high-specced phones with affordable prices. It seems that a lot of people are content with such smartphones that there really is no need to buy those expensive models.

Samsung needs to make a move and so it’s launching its own smartphone leasing program. Perhaps also as a response to the Apple’s iPhone 6s installment plan in the United States, the said program was recently announced by Samsung. The tech giant is offering rebates of phone payments until 2016. It may not make any sense because why not just say it’s “free”? Well, technically it’s not but when you buy any of the latest flagship models (Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Galaxy Note 5) under an installment plan or under lease, you can get up to a maximum of $120 rebate monthly.

Think you can easily get a new Samsung phone? Not really but you can be eligible for either a “Trade-in Offer” or a “Non-Trade-in Offer”. The Trade-in program requires you to trade in your old iPhone (4s, 5, 5s, 6, or 6+). Pre-register on SamsungPromotions.com to see for yourself and be eligible. Apple iPhone owners are required to visit the website from their phones and enter email address.

Samsung has gladly shared details of the promo. The ‘Samsung Phone Payments on Us’ deal will be available for those living in Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, and all 50 states in the US. You must be at least 18 years old. Note that this promo is only for those with an installment payment or lease plan.

This promo already began last September 25. It will end on October 9 but all eligible offers must be redeemed from September 28 to October 16. Samsung may still accept postal mails only until November 19. Unfortunately, AT&T phone plans are not included in this promo for whatever reason.
