During the Consumer Electronic Show last month, a lot of smartphones, wearables, devices, etc were launched or announced. One of those that people probably overlooked because it wasn’t from a big brand or it wasn’t high-end enough is the ZTE Grand X 3, an entry-level device from the Chinese OEM. But it did make a few waves at the CES, even winning an Editor’s Choice award from Reviewed.com. So now if you want to avail of this, you can through prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless.

The ZTE Grand X 3 sports a 5.5” HD infinity-edge 720p display that is protected by Corning Glass 3. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 chipset (with a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU) and has a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage that can be expanded through a microSD card. The main camera is 8MP with LED flash while the front-facing one is at 2MP. It comes with a rapid charging 3080 mAh battery, so you shouldn’t run out of juice while commuting or if you’re mobile for short periods of time.

Cricket Wireless meanwhile is positioning itself as an alternative to the bigger carriers (although it is of course a subsidiary of one of the big ones, AT&T), most of whom of course are pushing for post-paid lines. They say that they “added more prepaid subscribers than any other carrier in 2015 and more subscribers than the rest of the industry combined,” signaling a shift in how people want to do business with carriers. Their plans don’t have any annual contracts, prices already include the taxes and fees, and plans start at $35/month.

The ZTE Grand X 3 will be available at the Cricket Wireless online store and their physical stores for $129.99. If you’re switching from another carrier, you can get it for only $79.99 plus you get a $50 bill credit as well.
