ZTE USA is bringing a new phone in the United States that has a potential to become a bestseller. Well, at least, in the entry-level or no-contract market where ZTE USA is the second biggest. The ZTE Avid Plus is very affordable at only $114.99. That’s one cheap handset and if you think the name sounds familiar, there’s already a ZTE Avid phone released way back in 2013 from 2013.

This time, ZTE simply upgraded the phone, thus, the ‘Plus’ in the name. Don’t be deceived though because it only means upgraded. The plus still doesn’t still make it premium—it’s just another basic and affordable phone updated with some of the more recent features and technology available.

The device comes equipped with a 5MP rear-camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 720p video recording capability, 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core chip, battery saving mode, improved WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity, and Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed. Phone will be available at T-Mobile starting January 20. MetroPCS will also offer the handset in the next few weeks.

If you’re looking for a premium mobile device, ZTE also has a new one in the form of the Grand X 3. It’s considered a high-end phone because of the premium specs but still affordable at only $129.99. That’s only a few dollars more than the basic Avid Plus and even cheaper than the ZMAX 2.

The ZTE Grand X 3 will be offered by Cricket Wireless complete with a large 5.5-inch HD screen, infinity edge, Qualcomm 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, Dolby Audio, 4G LTE connectivity, 16GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for memory expansion, fast charging feature, and a 3080 mAh battery.

Axon smartphone owners will be happy to know that ZTE also updated their free two-year protection plan. The Passport 2.0 is free for all Axon users. It’s a consumer assurance and support program that includes several benefits from device upgrades to unlimited out of warranty repairs to customer assistance.

ZTE’s original Passport program is already good but the company wants to offer more for the consumers. Standard warranty may not be enough but this updated support program allows repairs even when already out of warranty. Special features include unlimited repairs, upgraded assistance ($100 credit), replacement assistance ($100 credit), free shipping for replacement or repaired devices, and free set up service.
