A few weeks ago, we mentioned that NVIDIA had optimized the Zinio reader for Honeycomb tablets. If you are an Android smartphone user that wants the Zinio reader as well the good news is that the app is now available for any Android device on Android 2.2 or higher. The app allows the user to browse full color magazines complete with ads and all the content from the printed versions.

Using the app, you can purchase single digital issues or buy subscriptions to the titles you like. You can also read the mags in text only mode if you are on a slow connection. To celebrate the official launch of the Zinio app on Android, Zinio is giving access to full issues from 12 different magazines. The mags include BlackBook, Bike, ESPN The Magazine, House Beautiful and more.

I have used Zinio before on iOS devices and the app is really nice. The publications look just like a print magazine, only when your battery runs down on your smartphone or tablet your reading is over. If you are on T-Mobile, you can get five more free titles to check out. I still prefer my mags in print, but many folks like digital.
