Lava has announced the availability of its XOLO Play T1000, an Android Jelly Bean handset being hailed as a gaming device bearing an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and a 4.7-inch display. The device is now available for purchase in India for Rs. 15,999, which works out to a tad under $270 USD. We got a run down of its specs after the jump.

As we mentioned, the XOLO Play T1000 features a 4.7-inch HD OGS display, while inside users will find a 1.5GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor alongside 1GB of RAM. The internal storage space is a low 4GB, and though there wasn’t mention of an expansion slot, we imagine there may be one considering the device is hailed as a gaming smartphone, and 4GB of space doesn’t leave much room for games.

Graphics come by way of a GeForce GPU, and the software is said to be Android Jelly Bean 4.1. The battery is on the lower side at 1900mAh, so users cranking away at the hardware by game playing might find themselves having to charge throughout the day. The hardware is said to take advantage of a fifth-core that is there for the purpose of conserving the battery life, however, so some thought was put into it.

Speaking of games, the T1000 is shipped with TegraZone preloaded, which gives access to Android games optimized for the processor. And rounding it all out is a rear 8-megapixel camera with a BSI sensor, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Lava International’s Vishal Sehgal has some things to say about the device:
