Xiaomi’s full metal Redmi Note 3 announced last November seems to be getting a refresh. Don’t be confused because we’ve recently featured the Redmi 3, but the Redmi Note 3 is different. When the Chinese OEM first unveiled the smartphone, the Redmi Note 3 was said to be powered by a Helio X10 processor. The latest news from the company features a Snapdragon variant of the Redmi Note 3.

If you may remember, the Redmi Note 3 is the first to have a fingerprint scanner under the Redmi series. It’s one attractive smartphone that boasts of a 4050mAh battery packed in a sleek full metal body frame. Xiaomi may have updated the chipset inside but handset is still cheap at ¥999 whish is about $151. You can say it’s the more expensive sibling of the Redmi 3 which is only $109 but still below $200–still affordable.

To review, the Redmi Note 3 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch screen, 1080p resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset, 4G LTE connectivity, 16MP main camera with 0.1s ultra-fast Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), 5MP selfie shooter, and 2GB RAM for the 16GB model/3GB RAM for the 32GB unit. The smartphone already supports Voice over LTE or VoLTE.

Another impressive feature is the sunlight display that allows comfortable and easy viewing even under super bright conditions. Phone runs Android Lollipop topped by the latest MIUI 7. This may be the updated Redmi Note 3 but the URL of the Xiaomi source suggests it’s a ‘Pro’. So it is it a Xiaomi Note 3 Pro? Looks more like it.
