Xiaomi Mi 5 Sample Photo 16MP Camera

The Xiaomi Mi 5’s retail box has been leaked last month, showing us the color options. The smartphone is believed to have a laser focus and IR blaster, Snapdragon 820 processor, and 4GB RAM, and Quad HD screen. We were expecting it to be revealed last January 21 but still nothing. We’re hoping at the Mobile World Congress next week, Xiaomi will finally and officially unveil its new 16MP camera-toting flagship phone.

Hugo Barra, former Google executive and now Xiaomi’s Global VP, published a few photos a few days ago on his Facebook page some sample shots from his Xiaomi Mi 5. Barra was proud of the results so he shared parts of a bigger photo of what appears to be coconut tree leaves. The green color is very bright and vivid.

The Xiaomi exec used his new Mi 5 to test the camera and according to him, he didn’t adjust the manual settings. He used the HDR to take a picture. He then zoomed in to to check if details are lost but lo and behold, the photo is super clear.

Hugo Barra even shared the a link to the full resolution HDR image. The file is big (over 11MB) in exactly 4608 x 3456 resolution which he zoomed in and then cropped to a smaller 2265 X 1605 image. (Click on image to zoom in)
