Virtual Reality has been a big deal in the last year or so with headsets turning up left and right that are designed to hold a smartphone inside for gaming action. A new VR headset has turned up called the XG Virtual Reality Headset.

The XG VR is a head mounted device that you place your own smartphone into. The headset will hold devices ranging from the iPhone 5 to the Nexus 6. The XG VR isn’t made from cardboard like Google Cardboard.

The headset is machined out of a plastic material of some sort and is designed to be durable and comfortable to wear. The lenses inside the headset are hardened and have anti-reflection and anti-fingerprint coatings. The foam pad around the outside is interchangeable for comfort.

The XG VR headset is on Kickstarter seeking $20,000 and has raised over $36,000 so far. The project has 45 days to go. A Pledge of $59 or more will get you a headset when they ship in May.
