X-Men: Days of Future Past brings side-scrolling action to Android

If you’ve been around Marvel movies in the past few years you’ll know that the title of this new Android game from Glitchsoft – X-Men: Days of Future Past – is taken from the movie of the same title, which was in itself an attempt to bring together the screwed up timelines and storylines the X-Men movies have given us. The game itself reflects the movie, but gives us some nostalgic 2D side-scrolling fun while it’s at it.

If you remember the movie, there were basically two timelines – but the future was that humans and mutants alike ended up being slaves to the Sentinels (big, bad, adaptable, morphing machines). In the game, users will get to pick which X-Men character to play – Wolverine, Storm, Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Cyclops, Polaris or Scarlet Witch. You play the game to stop the Sentinel-ridden future from happening.

The game brings a lot of novelty for a side-scrolling game. Side-scrollers, if done right, are pretty fun to begin with and it looks like this one was done correctly. The game will transfer you from one timeline to another, dealing with the two separate timelines of Days of Future Past. Pretty cool.
