November 6th 2009, a day to be remembered by all mobile tech followers and by those who got the Motorola DROID from Verizon. But also, a day that a lot of people are saying will mark the beginning of the update problems with the Android OS and the different devices running on it.

The problem starts, many people believe, because most of the Android phones are running on version 1.6 – with just a couple on version 1.5 – and today, we see the first phone to run Android 2.0. According to those who worry about the future of Android say that is getting harder to keep the apps working right with the different hardware and software versions available.

So if some phones continue to run old versions of Android, and the manufacturers, as well as the carriers do not address the possible issues that could arise with application compatibility, Android users could have a real problem in their hands. With different screen sizes and resolutions and different hardware components like trackballs, it seems like a possible problem. In a personal opinion, I believe that Google and app developers will bring stabilty to this ordeal, and I also believe the Android OS has a bright future.
