If you’re curious what are the driving conditions in other countries, traffic navigation app Waze has got you covered. They evaluated the driving experience of 50 million drivers in 32 countries, and including 167 metro areas. The results have now been released in the first ever Global Driver Satisfaction Index, considering six key factors that affect how satisfying or miserable they are in both driving and commuting. The Dutch came out with the best driving experience while Costa Rica has the worst.
They based the index on six key factors and asked the drivers to give a single numerical score from satisfying (10) to miserable (1). The Traffic Level (how often and how bad are the traffic jams); Road quality and infrastructure; Driver safety (number of accidents, road accidents, weather); Driver services (access to gas stations, good parking options); Socio-Economic (access to cars, increasing and decreasing gas prices); and last but definitely not the least for them, the “Wazeyness”, which is actually how good (or bad) the Waze community is in terms of helping fellow drivers.
Based on the results, it looks like the Netherlands, one of the most densely-populated countries in the world, is the best place to be a driver (among other things). In terms of cities, Phoenix, Arizona received the best scores when it comes to the best driving conditions in the world. The Netherlands also topped the “charts” when it comes to having the best traffic conditions, along with Slovakia, Sweden, and Czech Republic. The Philippines, Guatemala, and Venezuela are the bottom of the table, with Manila having “the worst traffic on earth” on a city level.
In terms of Wazeyness, which is probably the most important for them, Belgium is “the most Wazey country on Earth” because the smiley face is their most chosen Mood in the app, while Indonesia has the most stressed or unhappy emoticons in the app. You can read the full report on the source link below.
