If you’ve been using Glide, that video chat messenger where you get to talk to your friends without ever typing a word, or if you’re curious about it, then this is the perfect time for you. The latest update gives you support for your Android Wear smartwatches. This means that you will be able to watch your friends’ video messages for you right from your wrist. You can’t respond to them in the same manner, but at least you’ll look cool just looking at the video from your wearable.

If you have a smartwatch running on the Android Wear platform and you have Glide installed in both your smartphone and wearable, then you’ll have the ability to watch the videos that your friends send you. All you have to do is open them on your wearable. However, unless you have a Huawei Watch or the ASUS Zenwatch 2 (the only ones so far with speakers), then you still need your connected smartphone to be able to hear the audio.

The other restriction of course is that you can’t respond to your friends with a video message through your smartwatch because there aren’t any Android Wear devices that have cameras. At least, none yet. We won’t discount the possibility that there will be soon. But you can respond through a voice message, a dictated text or any of the fun emojis that the app supports.

If you don’t have Glimpse yet, you can download it from the Google Play Store for free. If you have it already, just update it and start watching the video messages on your Android Wear smartwatch.
