Coming out of CES 2013, Vizio has been showing off a pair of Android tablets. Specifically, a 10-inch and 7-inch tablet that will arrive running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Of course, therein lies the question, the arrival. From what we have seen, Vizio has been pretty quiet in terms of the 10-inch model, however they have said that the 7-inch model will arrive in the first half of 2013.

In other words, both tablets have some wait before a public release. The story is the same for the price and the market availability. No mention of how much these will end up retailing for, or where you will be able to make a purchase. And that is sort of disappointing because both of these tablets appear to have some promise.

For one, they are both running a vanilla Jelly Bean installation. Touching on the 10-inch tablet first and we have a device with a 10.1-inch display and a resolution of 2560 x 1600. Other goodies include a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, microUSB, microHDMI, stereo speakers, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera.

Moving over to the 7-inch tablet and we find a display resolution of 1280 x 800 along with a Tegra 3 processor, 16GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. Simply put, think along the lines of a Nexus 7 in terms of specs. All that being said, touching back on the price, given what we have seen from Vizio in the past, we expect these to be attractively priced.

  1. If pricing on the 10″ is fair, I’m in. the wife would love something like this. Especially with some kind of (bluetooth) dock/keyboard. Keep it up Vizio.

Haha. Based on what we have seen in the past from Vizio you will most likely not see either of these tablets…ever….or if you do they will release so late in the year that they will be outdated spec-wise. You may have forgotten that Vizio never released any of the tablets they showed at last years CES.

  3. I will never buy a vizio product again bought 2 vtab1008 tablets they both had bad charging ports I can’t believe something that simple would be such a problem bad customer service bad tablet. Unresponsive screen pile of crap.
