We just received word that China will be releasing the QiGi i6 in an Android version and a Windows Mobile version. Soon after first hearing about it there was a video released showing a full version of Android running smoothly.

For those of you who currently use the T-Mobile G1, this may appear a little different because it is formatted to fit a different sized phone. The video is one second shy of ten minutes so there is plenty for you to feast your eyes on. At the very end the show a little bit of what appears to be cheaply made hardware, but we will leave that to you to decide. Given the specs and this video, do you think this is something you would fork out that kind of money for?

  1. Must be hard to enter anything without a keyboard currently.
  2. I would hardly call it running smoothly when it throws a fatal error when clicking on the text box for Google Search.

Not to mention the other 10 force close errors. Who's writing the articles here? That phone is completely unusable in it's current state.
  3. Looks very cheaply made..
  4. the touch screen on that phone is a bitch, like those fake china iphones
  5. "Did it just... click?" -- Couldn't help myself after all the hype over the Blackberry Storm.

Too bad I can't read Chinese. But at least unlike the iPhone knockoffs, it's running a REAL os. This shows how much Android can change the game. Get decent hardware and even the cheapest company can put something respectable out because of Android.
