Verizon has beat its own launch estimate for the Android 2.2 update for the LG Ally, with Froyo now available for the QWERTY smartphone. Originally expected sometime in February, the update is now available as an OTA release; you can either wait for the Ally to prompt you with the new firmware, or trigger it manually via the Settings page.

According to Verizon, the update is 52.3MB. More on the LG Ally in the full Android Community review.
