The Verizon Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ have just received the latest Android 6.0 software update. After months of being beta tested and initially released in other regions like South Korea and Canada, the Galaxy Note 5 Verizon model was the first to receive the SOFTware update. Another version is ready not only for the Note also for last year’s S6 edge+.

This particular software update requires Internet connection. Make sure that phone’s battery is also fully charged for an uninterrupted downloading and installation. The Galaxy S6 edge+ gets updates to the Notification panel, Wi-Fi Calling, better and more relevant app searches, and Live broadcast and Edge panel enhancements. Of course, the Marshmallow update also brings Now on Tap, Doze mode, and new App Permissions.

To check if software update is ready, go to Settings > About device > Software updates. If you don’t see the MMB29K.G928VVRU2BPC2 or MMB29K.N920VVRU2BPC2, then it means your Galaxy S6 edge+ or Note 5 isn’t updated yet. If an update is ready, click on Download now and then choose Install update.

The Marshmallow update now allows the Note 5 and S6 edge+ mobile users to take advantage of high-def voice calls over WiFi through the Advanced Calling feature. WiFi calling can be activated if you’re on Verizon as the two phones support such service.
