Much of the HTC One talk lately has been focused on the One (M8), however it seems there is also a bit of good news coming for those carrying a One Max. More specifically, a Verizon branded HTC One Max. The Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat update is expected to begin on Monday afternoon.

Executive Director, Product Management at HTC, Mo Versi has confirmed the news on Twitter. Details include just the basics, about how HTC has “received technical approval for Sense 5.5 + OS 4.4.2.” Verizon has yet to post any sort of changelog. Users will be notified when the update is ready for their particular device.

Remember these updates tend to rollout over time, which is just another way of saying your One Max may not get the Android 4.4.2 update on Monday. Still, we suspect many will be taking the proactive approach. Those looking to try to grab the update as quickly as possible should navigate to Settings -> System -> Software Update -> Check New to try and get the process started.

Bottom line here, it looks like Verizon HTC One Max users will soon be making the jump from Android 4.3 with Sense 5.5 to Android 4.4.2 with Sense 5.5. Those looking to see where they stand now should head to Settings -> System -> About -> Software Information. Now we sit back and hope there are no delays between now and Monday afternoon.
