The Verizon Messages app has been around for quite some time now, and as of today it looks like a new feature will be arriving. The app will soon have Glympse integration. Big Red has dubbed this as being a "major upgrade" but the simple fact is, users will be able to easily share their location in real time. Or more the to point, Verizon Messages users will be able to share their location without the need to open a second app.

For those unfamiliar with Verizon Messages, or Glympse -- both can be found in the Play Store and both are available for free. The Messages app is for Verizon customers and means they are able to send and receive messages from a smartphone or tablet. In addition, they can also send and receive from the web. The key here, these messages are all shown as being sent from your Verizon Wireless phone number.

Glympse is an app that we have looked at before. In fact, back in July we saw some the service get integrated with Evernote. The basic here is that Glympse will allow you to share your current location with others. You can share over email or text message as well as on several social sites. The good part here, along with the real-time sharing of your location, each Glympse can be set to expire. Basically, you can set a Glympse to give someone a look at where you are, where you are traveling and also when you are expected to arrive.

Bottom line here, you can now share a Glympse directly from the Verizon Messages app. Otherwise, Verizon has also said the Messages app is getting the ability to customize photos with collages, captions and sketches and also send customized postcards as well as audio clips. The Verizon Messages app is available by way of the Google Play Store.
