The ongoing debate and rumor mill for the HTC One headed to Verizon isn't going away, and now we have one more report to help fuel the fire. After initial reports claimed the flagship HTC One would indeed come to Verizon, then confirmed to not be offered, we've been getting conflicting reports ever sense. Today one massive rumor claims a Verizon HTC One is already out and in the wild, and is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Yeah, we're going to take this one with a massive grain of salt. Mainly because this doesn't come to us by the way of a popular leakster like @evleaks, or from someone else trusted in the community. Instead just some random comment on XDA Developers claims this is the real deal, and could be announced tomorrow.
As the rumor goes, a local carrier employee claims an HTC Rep who was visiting their store had a Verizon HTC One in his pocket. It was also running the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense UI 5 build from HTC. This was revealed after he questioned the rep regarding updates for the current HTC One available from the rest of the US carriers. Interesting right? It's too bad he didn't get pictures, because then this would be a completely different story.
So while we can't confirm that Verizon will be getting one or not, tomorrow could be very revealing. The original HTC One announcement claimed Verizon would get the device about a month after the others, then later that turned into a no, so we're not sure at this point. Tomorrow in Las Vegas for CTIA 2013 Verizon has a "special announcement" they've been hyping. Could this be the HTC One on Verizon Wireless? It's possible!
The Verizon HTC One has leaked multiple times in benchmarks, leaked code, and more so for now we really don't know what to believe. HTC did state earlier this month when they have a product to announce for Verizon, they'll "make a big deal about it." All reports (but official ones) are pointing towards an HTC One for Verizon, and we could finally get the official news tomorrow.
What else could be Verizon's one and only "special announcement" at CTIA this year? Maybe that red GALAXY S 4 Active we saw yesterday? Who knows. What do you guys think?
