It looks like many Android users are getting a tasty treat this afternoon. Earlier we reported the AT&T Motorola Atrix HD was getting updated to Jelly Bean, and now as expected the Verizon Galaxy S III is getting the same. We’ve been reported on this all week, so should be nothing new, but we can now confirm Verizon is pushing this out to all users as we speak.

Earlier this week Verizon posted the update details and changelog to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S III, and that usually means it is coming soon. That day would be today! Multiple users have flooded our inbox to confirm the goodness of expandable notifications and more is arriving as we speak.

As usual, you can wait for the over the air update to arrive on your own Galaxy S III, or head into settings and manually check for updates. We’ve been tipped than many users got it this morning, and checking for updates will pull the OTA down with ease and you’ll be rocking the new OS in a matter of minutes.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean brings the “premium suite” Samsung’s been showing off in multiple new videos, and much more. Project butter for a smoother OS, expandable and informative notifications, Google Now voice search and more is all included in this update. Google Now is quickly becoming our favorite Android feature. So go ahead and give that a try once you’ve completed the update. Let us know your thoughts once you’ve updated to the latest and greatest.
