Are you excited and patiently awaiting the Samsung GALAXY S 4 to arrive on Verizon Wireless? Well we have good news. Verizon is the only big carrier that still hasn’t released any sort of details or a full release date, but Best Buy has stepped in to fill the void for you eager fans. They just confirmed they’ll be taking pre-orders for the Verizon model, even though we don’t know when it will be available.

So far mums the word from Verizon Wireless. They did however confirm on Twitter that the GALAXY S 4 would arrive on their network in May, but that’s all they decided to tell us. Recent leaks suggest a May 30th release date, slightly a month later than AT&T – but so far we can’t confirm that at this point.

However, for those that would like to secure their own 4.99-inch 1080p full HD powerhouse smartphone today you’ll be able to do so thanks to Best Buy. Multiple readers have received messages from Best Buy confirming you can head into your local Best Buy Mobile and secure your GS 4 today. The online site still doesn’t show Verizon’s model available, but should soon.

We’re not expecting Best Buy to share a release date or any official pricing, and most likely will just ask for $50 down to secure your pre-order. While Verizon hasn’t announced pricing, most likely it will be $199 for 16GB and $249 for the 32GB model just like other carriers. If you head down to your local Best Buy shop to order one, drop us a comment and let us know how it went!

  1. I work at Best Buy, and have just placed my very own pre order on this ghost of a device. So far, it’s just that. On our beast system it gives us the option to reserve either the black mist, or the white frost version. No release date, $50 down today, as the article has stated. All went well, and from my own experience, best buy sometimes gets phones before the actual carrier, when I got my note II on verizon, i swung by every verizon store in my city, none had even gotten their shipments, when I swung by my good ole’ best buy, the phone was right there, callin’ my name.

  2. Went in yesterday and pre-ordered mine. I had put $50 down which was given back to me in the form of a gift card that I will be able to use toward the price of the phone when it arrives in the store. The sales rep there didn’t have much info that we don’t already know…the phone will most likely cost $199 or $249 with a 2 year contract. She also told me that Verizon’s release date is usually no more than 3-4 weeks behind the other carriers and that Best Buy usually receives their phones before the actual carrier…same as Mike H said below. So hopefully BEFORE the rumored 5/30 date. I am IMPATIENTLY waiting! 🙂
